10-Day Vignette

The 10-Day Vignette is designed for short-term travellers transiting Austria or visiting for a brief holiday. It provides full access to the ASFINAG motorway and expressway network for exactly 10 consecutive days.

Key Details

Validity Period

10 consecutive days from the selected start date (inclusive). The start date is chosen at the time of purchase and cannot be changed retroactively.

Price (2025)

€9.90 for cars and light vehicles (up to 3.5t). Motorcycles: €5.80.

ASFINAG online shop, petrol stations in Austria and neighbouring countries (Germany, Switzerland, Hungary, Slovenia, Italy), ÖAMTC offices, Tabak-Trafik shops.

Digital Option

Available as a digital vignette registered to your licence plate. No sticker required.

Physical Sticker

Must be affixed to the inside of the windscreen before entering the motorway. Placement: upper area, driver's side or passenger's side, away from any tinting.

2-Month Vignette

The 2-Month Vignette covers two full calendar months and is ideal for extended holidays, working travellers, or those making multiple trips through Austria within a two-month window.

Two full calendar months from the selected start date. For example, a vignette starting on March 15 is valid until May 14 (inclusive).

Price (2025)

€29.00 for cars and light vehicles. Motorcycles: €14.50.

Summer holiday travellers, ski season visitors, travellers making 3+ trips through Austria within two months.

Cost Comparison

Three 10-day vignettes would cost €29.70 — the 2-month option is comparable in price but offers continuous coverage.

Annual Vignette

The Annual Vignette offers the best value for frequent travellers. It is valid from December 1st of the year before the indicated year through January 31st of the year after — approximately 14 months of coverage.

Key Details

Validity Period

December 1 (prior year) to January 31 (following year). The 2025 annual vignette is valid from December 1, 2024 to January 31, 2026.

€103.80 for cars. Motorcycles: €38.20.

Digital Vignette (Digitale Vignette)

Since 2018, ASFINAG has offered a fully digital vignette option. Instead of a physical sticker, the vignette is registered to your vehicle's licence plate in ASFINAG's database. Enforcement cameras read your plate and verify validity automatically.

Advantages of the Digital Vignette

• No sticker to apply — eliminates risk of incorrect placement
• Can be purchased online from anywhere in Europe
• Transferable to a new vehicle if you change cars (within validity period, subject to conditions)
• Confirmation email serves as proof of purchase
• Available for purchase up to 3 months in advance

Important Considerations

• The digital vignette is linked to a specific licence plate — ensure the plate number is entered correctly
• Corrections to licence plate errors may be possible within a short window after purchase; contact ASFINAG immediately
• Rental vehicles: check whether the rental company has already purchased a vignette

Motorcycle Vignette

Motorcycles require a separate, dedicated vignette. The same validity periods apply (10-day, 2-month, annual), but at reduced prices. The motorcycle vignette is physically smaller and designed to be affixed to the motorcycle's registration plate holder or another approved location.

Special Toll Sections (Sondermautstrecken)

Several sections of the Austrian motorway network require an additional toll on top of the standard vignette. These are typically tunnels or mountain passes with high construction and maintenance costs.
